Mr. Phillips' Bio

I was born in Los Angeles, CA, at Kaiser Hospital and grew up in Pasadena, graduating from John Muir H.S.  Having earned my B.A. from U.C. Irvine with an emphasis in literary analysis, graduating in 1998, I went on to study Lacanian psychoanalysis and helped to found P.L.A.C.E., a Lacanian psychoanalytic clinic.  In 2000, I joined the teaching profession and eventually became National Board Certified.

I currently coach the WPHS Debate team.  We meet after school on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in Room 1216.

In my spare time, I read, play handball, and watch horror movies.  My favorite poet is John Keats; favorite book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz; favorite movie, Young Frankenstein.

My hope is that every student will earn an A; my door is always open.
